I just don't know is CS will support the 20D. But there are other Raw processors available. You should consider contacting Canon tech support about getting DPP working.
There's no reason that shouldn't work for you. And then you have no need for Photoshop. Arslan - Just using the canon file browser tool you are correct it doesn't offer a "save" feature.
You must either convert or transfer the images. When I use it I may have 1 or more images selected and will right click on one. The top two options allow me to either transfer the images to my designated image software if I have that setup. The second option allows you to "save" images in a compatible format such as bit tif or 8-bit jpg for example. Its "Convert and save in file Jpg when set to on quality is acceptable. You may want to start with Tif files and if you can, edit directly in bit tif.
It can't be this difficult. The Adobe RAW driver works fine for 20D, just download it and put it in the right Adobe folder as the instructions indicate. I have never met anyone that had an issue with Canon SW reading the RAW files, if you still have issues contact Canon Tech support because there is probably some configuration error on your setup.
Call Canon. Something is screwed up. They will help you sort it out. Canon USA is quite responsive if you contact them by e-mail. It takes usually max. Use Zoombrowser which is canon software. Or digital Photo professional also canon software. Open the DCIM folder thats the card reader where the files are. Highlight all images and then copy to new folder. You now have the images in a folder on your hard drive. You can then use DPP or whatever to view the masterpieces!
